ADHD

As you may have noticed I have been enjoying experimenting with pouring paint recently as a bit of a change of play to my usual illustration style. I struggle to concentrate on anything for too long before getting bored and moving on (the alphabet robot series absorbed a lot of concentration and I had to take a bit of a break from drawing after that!) and this piece has come alongside me finally coming to terms with the fact that I might have ADHD.

I have joined the ever growing waiting list for diagnosis and this painting came in the middle of that. The black deformed creature at the bottom is almost like my “black dog of depression” getting more and more confused as my brain becomes clearer as to how to support it. The chaos of coloured lines is the ADHD and the skeleton robot hand is me trying to get to the bottom of clarity. I think I’ve gone a bit deeper into my thoughts with this one than normal!
