Water parks and germs

The school holidays have brought all sorts of fun, chaos, boredom, anxiety, stress, multi tasking and debt as they do every year (and we’re only half way through, yikes!). They’ve also brought a variety of water parks into my life. The first was in July and was huge. After spending about 90 minutes in a queue with my child, we finally got to the top, only to my sons disappointment to have to push himself down the slide due to a lack of water (I’m sorry, what did I pay for, just a park?).

As you would expect the food was over priced and there was a lot of children there, both things to be expected. What I don’t expect to see is people being let on to the slides when they have blood dripping from their ankle and a various plasters floating about the wave pool. I wouldn’t say I have particularly high standards of cleanliness but some things just gross me out!

I find the queues hard, not only as I have to entertain my son whilst he is bored in the queue but also because I can’t stand queueing. Again it’s a standing still affair of which I am not very good at :)

The rest of the holiday was good, and visited lots of much cleaner pools thankfully! Those water parks just remind me of that South Park episode https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pee_(South_Park) I’ll let you read up on it as you will but I’m sure some of you will know the episode at the Water Park!
