How do you use art in a therapeutic way?
I experience depression and anxiety and have done since my early 20's, so some of my work tends to portray the sadness in that. I often use drawing and painting as a therapeutic way to let the sadness go as you can see in some the artwork I have on my website.
Is it all doom and gloom?
Some of my work however is fun and silly. It totally depends how I'm feeling. Part of my own cognitive behavioural work is to try to see the small things in life that are worth it and take one step at a time. So much of my art and illustration helps me to do this. It makes me stop for a minute and reflect on the good things!
